Help Raise Money for Cancer Research
Hello Friends-
We (my friend Alisa & I) have decided to fundraise for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society as members of Team in Training (once again). We will be running in the Ogden Half Marathon on May 17th. This will be Alisa's 2nd event with the team.....and my 4th event with the team.
We could use all the support we can get!
Our goal is to raise $2000 total for this event -to help fund very important life saving research. So far we have raised a little over $1100. I feel very passionate about this cause as both of my parents are battling different forms of Cancer. I strongly believe that with all of your help - we CAN make a positive impact and prevent this horrible disease from taking more lives.
Help us to get funding into the hands of the researchers who will one day find a cure!! Every dollar -no matter how large, or how small will help find a cure.
You can donate on our fundraising page at:

We appreciate your support very much!!! THANK YOU!!
Love,
Beth

Tackle the Tower with the American Lung Association
As the snow discourages even the most dedicated of runners to stay inside instead of heading for the pavement, the American Lung Association of Utah (ALAU) has an alternative to the usual treadmill or slushy street training. This winter mix up your winter training with a more unconvenional race. This March, 150 firefighters, runners, and non-profit aficionados will scale the 26 stories of the Wells Fargo Building downtown. Use your lungs and funds to help the ALAU help those with poor lung health.
This is a community effort. Support victims with asthma, lung cancer, emphysema, and other lung diseases live better by using your lungs to help them. Each participant needs to raise $100 by race day. Push you lungs to the limit this March by joining the American Lung Association of Utah and racing to the top of the tallest building in Salt Lake City. We need your help.
Thank you,
The American Lung Association of Utah - http://lungutah.org/

A poem written by a little girl dying of cancer....
SLOW DANCE
Have you ever watched kids
On a merry-go-round?
Or listened to the rain
Slapping on the ground?
Ever followed a butterfly's erratic flight?
Or gazed at the sun into the fading night?
You better slow down.
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.
Do you run through each day
On the fly?
When you ask How are you?
Do you hear the reply?
When the day is done
Do you lie in your bed
With the next hundred chores
Running through your head?
You'd better slow down
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last
Ever told your child,
We'll do it tomorrow?
And in your haste,
Not see his sorrow?
Ever lost touch,
Let a good friendship die
Cause you never had time
To call and say, 'Hi'
You'd better slow down
Don't dance so fast.
Time is short.
The music won't last.
When you run so fast to get somewhere
You miss half the fun of getting there.
When you worry and hurry through your day,
It is like an unopened gift....
Thrown away.
Life is not a race.
Hear the music
Before the song is over.

The festive evening with host Kurt Bestor includes a fine dinner, social hour, sweetheart pet portraits, auction, our "Rescue of the Year" and entertainment.
