This party is a benefit for the Simon Says Foundation - http://www.hopeprojects.net/ Here is a little about what they do…

Simons Says was organized in 1967 by Dr. Jerry Simons. He wanted to provide assistance for those who were in need and willing to help themselves. The organization has provided such people sewing machines, building materials for schools, engineering help, medical clinics, farm animals, clean water systems, and green houses. In 1999 Dr. Simons established HOPE PROJECTS as the delivery system of the foundation's humanitarian work and shifted attention to the peoples of the high Andes of South America. These people of Peru are extraordinarily motivated and committed to helping themselves.

Dr. Simons and his associates discovered several hundred villages of the forgotten Inca people who fled into the Andes when the Spanish Conquistadors invaded them in 1532. As an IRS 501 (c) (3) organization, HOPE PROJECTS provides over 100 villages with materials and engineering for the construction of needed structures along with a variety of other assistance. Villagers provide the labor.

They teach the villagers the skills to help themselves in the future – they supply the building materials and the villagers build the schools, orphanages, etc. The villagers learn skills they can use to help themselves and their fellow man in the future.

Lost Puppy... please help Max if you can!

Dear Best Friends Member,

We need your help to get the word out about Max, a little cattle dog mix who became separated from his family when they went camping in the China Meadows area of the Uinta mountain range near Lyman, WY. Max is a very shy dog.

If you see him, Jamee has these suggestions for catching him: When Max is approached, it might be helpful to skootch down to his level...or just sit right down on the ground, turn your body to the side, and not make direct eye contact with him (or use long, slow blinks)...put your hand out for him to smell (with some YUMMY treats, like hot dogs, or something). If you are able to grab the leash, be VERY careful, as he may fight the tension on the leash and try to back out of the collar. This would NOT be good. It might be better to drop the leash and try again rather than have him back out of the collar and then have NO I.D. at all. He loves kids and so might be more willing to get closer to children. Loves dogs, too, so might be willing to get closer if there is another dog there.

If you do see Max, please contact Jamee at: Wag-N-Train Dog Rescue

Together we can make a difference!
